Who ARE WE?

In 2006 Peter read the book “TELECOSM The World After Bandwidth Abundance” (Author: George Gilder) while doing a course in Technology Business through Rhodes University. 

On the very first page of the book somewhere towards the middle it states the following: “…Bill Gates of Microsoft, Steven Jobs of Apple, Gordon More and Andrew Grove of Intel. Still very much around, they beamed from magazine covers, iconise companies…  Jobs launches new products in ‘insanely great’ new tints and hues”. 

Peter did not know what tints and hues meant. After little bit of research he had an  “Eureka moment” and his future business had a name: Tint & Hue (Pty) Ltd.

Growing up (During the 1970’S) Peter’s dad worked for Lion Match (The only Match Manufacturer in South Africa). He would often go with his father to the factory. Peter’s father operated the Printing Press that printed the Lion Match logo on the boxes as well as the stricker surface and packaging. There Peter learned about the process of printing and up to this day he is hooked to the process of printing.

During the same period Peter’s mother worked at one of the biggest and iconic clothing factories in South Africa: REX TRUEFORM. Through his mother’s stories of what happens at the factory gave him a sense of material, fashion and the processes involved in making clothes. Peter has his mother’s scissors she used at REX TRUEFORM during the 1970’s and is still using it and one of his pride possessions.
